Oceanfront Squamish
Squamish
Situated along the Squamish coastline, this mixed-use development is conceived as a cohesive waterfront community that integrates residential living with active ground-level commercial uses. The project is composed of a series of mid-rise apartment buildings and contemporary townhomes, organized to support density while maintaining a strong relationship to landscape, light, and view.
The site’s unique position between mountains and ocean informs the architectural response. Massing and orientation are carefully calibrated to preserve view corridors, strengthen pedestrian connections, and reinforce access to the waterfront. Public and semi-public spaces are interwoven throughout the development, encouraging walkability and fostering daily interaction at both the neighborhood and community scale.
The architectural language is restrained and contemporary, with material selections and detailing that reflect the coastal character of Squamish. Durable, regionally resonant materials ground the project in its context while supporting long-term performance. Sustainability is embedded in the planning and design approach, prioritizing efficient building systems, compact urban form, and a reduced environmental footprint.
As Squamish continues to grow, this project establishes a thoughtful model for mixed-use development, one that balances density with livability, and urban vitality with a deep respect for the surrounding natural environment.
