North Shore Imaging

Squamish

PROJECT TYPE: Commercial Interiors
SIZE: 2,390 sq ft
COMPLETED: Under Construction

North Shore Imaging is a medical diagnostic imaging centre in Squamish designed to prioritize clarity, comfort, and calm within a highly technical environment. The interior balances clinical performance with a welcoming atmosphere, reshaping the patient experience through thoughtful spatial planning and refined material choices.

The layout is organized to support efficient clinical workflows while remaining intuitive for patients. Clear sightlines, defined zones, and carefully considered circulation guide visitors from entry to waiting areas, change rooms, and imaging suites with ease. Public-facing spaces are designed to feel open and reassuring, while back-of-house areas support the operational needs of staff with dedicated reporting rooms, offices, storage, and staff amenities.

Materiality plays a key role in softening the clinical setting. A restrained palette of simple finishes, durable surfaces, and subtle textures creates a sense of calm without compromising hygiene or performance requirements. Carefully selected lighting, both functional and atmospheric, supports visual comfort throughout the space, from reception and waiting areas to imaging and reporting rooms.

Artwork and graphic elements are integrated to provide visual interest and moments of distraction, helping to reduce anxiety and humanize the clinical environment. Throughout the project, accessibility, efficiency, and dignity remain central considerations.

North Shore Imaging reflects a design approach where technical precision and human experience are given equal weight, creating a healthcare environment that is composed, efficient, and quietly supportive of both patients and practitioners.
